About The Squirrel Spotters' Society
Welcome to The Squirrel Spotters' Society, where we celebrate the brilliance of ADHD minds in all their wonderful complexity.
Created by writer and ADHD advocate Andre Alexander (writing as Alastair Bryn Williams), our society is more than just a brand - it's a community where ADHD adults can finally feel seen, understood, and celebrated. Drawing from his own late diagnosis and the insights shared in his book "Late Diagnosis: Navigating ADHD," Andre understands firsthand the unique way ADHD minds experience the world.
Our name playfully embraces that classic ADHD moment - when you're in the middle of an important task and suddenly... "Oh look, a squirrel!" While often portrayed as a limitation, we see this trait differently. That same ability to notice everything around us also gives us incredible powers of observation, creativity, and the ability to make unique connections others might miss. Yes, it can make focusing on one task challenging, but it's also what makes our minds wonderfully unique and capable of brilliant insights.
Through our carefully curated collection of books, resources, and community spaces, we're creating a world where ADHD isn't viewed as a deficit, but as a different way of processing and experiencing life. Whether you're newly diagnosed, suspecting you might have ADHD, or supporting someone who does, you'll find understanding, practical support, and a touch of humor here.
Every purchase you make through The Squirrel Spotters Society directly supports our mission. Your investment in our books, merchandise and resources enables us to create free content, engage in advocacy work, and continue research into different thinking styles. We're building more than a brand - we're growing a movement that celebrates cognitive diversity and supports real change.
The Squirrel Spotters Society exists to:
- Celebrate ADHD minds and their unique strengths
- Provide evidence-based resources and relatable insights
- Create a supportive community where everyone feels welcome
- Challenge outdated perceptions of ADHD
- Help people recognize and harness the unique strengths and capabilities of their ADHD minds
Join our society of brilliant minds who see the world differently. Because sometimes, getting distracted by that squirrel leads us to our most amazing discoveries.
